Steps to install cyanogenmod<\/h1>\n

  1. Unlock the bootloader(using EZ-UnLock<\/a>)<\/li>\n
  2. Recovery firmware (ClockworkMod or TWRP)\u00a0CWM6023TouchVZW.tar.md5<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/li>\n
  3. cyanogenmod firmware<\/li>\n
  4. gapps update software<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Unlocking the bootloader<\/h2>\n

    I don’t know whether this step is needed or not. Maybe next till i’ll try to unlock the stock bootloader. You need this file\u00a0VRALEC.bootchain.tar.md5<\/a>. If you don’t unlock the bootloader, you cannot install anything like the custom recovery firmware. If you try to install any firmware you will get the complaints like E:signature verification failed<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Now we will flash the custom bootchain file so make sure that\u00a0\u201cAuto Reboot\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0\u201cF Reset Time\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0are selected on Odin. Then click the\u00a0PDA<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0button and select the\u00a0\u201cVRALEC.bootchain.tar.md5\u2033<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0file and click on\u00a0\u201cStart\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0button on Odin.<\/p>\n

    Once it boots, you need to unlock the bootloader. This can be done using the EZ-Unlock app. For that you have to be root. Please follow the rooting procedure as describe in another post. Now install the EZ-Unlock app and unlock the bootloader.<\/p>\n

    Install the Recovery<\/h2>\n

    Now you need to install the ClockworkMod touch recovery. To install it, boot\u00a0the phone\u00a0into Download mode again (as you did in Step #2 above).
    \nRelaunch the Odin, connect\u00a0the phone\u00a0using the cable and\u00a0uncheck the\u00a0\u201cAuto Reboot\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0option on Odin.
    \nClick on the\u00a0PDA<\/strong>\u00a0button, select the\u00a0\u201cCWM6023TouchVZW.tar.md5<\/strong>\u201c\u00a0<\/em>file and hit the\u00a0Start\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>button.
    \nCWM Recovery will be flashed to your\u00a0phone\u00a0followed by\u00a0\u201cPASS!!\u201d<\/strong>.\u00a0This time your\u00a0phone\u00a0will not reboot automatically. Close the Odin window and disconnect the USB cable.<\/p>\n

    Now pull out the back cover of\u00a0the phone\u00a0and remove the battery. Place the battery to its place after about 30 seconds.
    \nThen boot\u00a0the phone\u00a0\u00a0into ClockworkMod recovery mode. To do this, hold the\u00a0Volume Up + Home + Power\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>buttons simultaneously. Keep the 3 keys pressed till your\u00a0phone\u00a0vibrates and when it does, release the Power button but keep the other 2 keys pressed till you see a gray\/black background with blue text the Clockworkmod Recovery<\/em>\u00a0written on the top of the screen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
